Must let them dry completely or else..... June 24, 2010 J. Lebria (New Jersey) I bought these for my 2 year old. He loved playing with them in the tub. They are very hard to squeeze the water out. I also noticed that after the first time using them, flaky blackish stuff comes out of the hole when you squirt them. Kinda looks like fungus or mold. If you just want to play with them on the water's surface then fine. But dont plan on squeezing them too often without letting the water dry completely in them or you will have black flaky stuff floating in your child's bath water!
I personally would not buy them again.
Hate it, but cannot take it from the kids June 16, 2010 M. Zhao (woodside, NY United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
OK, my kids are thomas fans, so i bought these bath toys hoping they'd like them. They did, but I absolutely hate them. I've bought many many great toys, and this set is the worst pick.
- Strange and very annoying smell that refuses to go away
- Hard to fill the water and hard to sqeeze, so instead of keeping the kids occupied, they keep me occupied. I am often too busy helping them with the trains to bath them!
- And because they are the kids' favorite trains, they play them all the time, which frustrates me even more.
Great for non bath use for younger kids May 14, 2010 Krystal Conley (California) It sure is hard to find age appropriate toys for my little boy who adores Thomas the Train. At 13 months, he just isn't old enough to play with the nicer train sets yet. In the mean time this makes a great alternative for him to play with till he is ready for the older ones. I don't plan on taking them in the bath tub as I do like how over time mildew gets trapped in bath toys.
They did smell weird when I took them out of the package, but that disappeared after an hour or so. I thought they were also fairly expensive, but with no other alternatives you gotta do what you gotta do.
Toys smell awful out of package May 12, 2010 Alison Mungenast 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just got these bath toys and they smell horrible, with a very strong chemical odor. Do they need to de-gas for a while or what? I think I'm going to leave them outside for a few days. Something that smells this bad cannot be safe for my child.
Good bath toy May 7, 2010 myst (Carpentersville, IL) My 2 year daughter loves to play w/ this toy whenever taking a bath.
Made out of rubber, so it floats on water.
Only concern was that my dauther sometimes put them on her mouth.
However, there are no sign of peeling paint.
Otherwise, she loves to taking a bath (just to play w/ this toy).
