Amazon.com Review Bounty Hunter's Tracker IV detector offers the excitement and profit of metal detecting at an accessible price, making it ideal for those just getting started. With a fully submersible, 8-inch Bounty D-Tech search coil, the Tracker IV features three different operating modes to help you hit pay dirt. Motion all-metals mode responds to any metals you sweep over, full discrimination mode rejects iron and other trash items, and tone discrimination alerts you with one or two audio pitches for different types of metals. The Tracker IV does not have the LCD that many of Bounty Hunter's other models boast, featuring instead a large Sensitivity Meter. Ground Trac, a feature that automatically balances the machine to the soil conditions, makes the Tracker IV a tremendous value. Users will also enjoy Bounty Hunter's comprehensive, easy-to-understand online tutorial and downloadable manual at www.detecting.com. The Tracker IV runs off of two 9-volt alkaline batteries and boasts a five-year limited warranty. --Ariel Meadow Stallings

I love this thing! July 13, 2010 R.L. (USA) We bought this so that we can locate arrows when they overshoot the target at the range. The range we practice at is basically a very large field and the targets do not have a backstop. Arrows are almost impossible to locate because of the soft dirt and grass.
This device is sensitive enough to locate the metal point on a carbon fiber arrow buried 3 to 6 inches under ground. This metal detector has paid for itself already just by locating our lost arrows.
TK4-PL Tracker May 31, 2010 S. Forstner 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this to find my property corners and save the cost of a survey. I already have a Garrett but couldn't find one of the two battery packs that are required for it to operate. The Bounty Hunter uses only 2 9-volt batteries, which is a lot easier to keep track of than the 8 AAs that the Garrett requires.
The Bounty Hunter did an admirable job and was quite easy to use. It took about 20 minutes to get the hang of searching in all metals mode and then swithcing out to see if I had iron or not for the property corners. It took about 10 minutes to find the first corner which was almost 5 inches deep. I also turned up a bunch of other stuff left by the former owners.
For the cost, this is a dandy little metal detector.
Bounty hunter review May 21, 2010 B. Mcguire I have never used a metal detector in my life before, but this has just the right amount of features so that i can find some good metal without getting confused! It was easy to get used to the beeps and sounds and i could quickly determine how deep an object was and what type of metal it is. Great detector for an even better price. Could not be happier.
Omron HEM-780/HEM-780N3 Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor with ComFit Cuff May 4, 2010 B. Conley (Florida) 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
Did not distinquish and could not tell what was in ground until digging it up. Disappointed.
Doesn't Detect Gold April 8, 2010 T. Burdick 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this unit in the hopes of finding gold. It picks up all kinds of other things, poptop tabs, bottle caps, rusty nails, rusty bolts and nuts, rusty tin cans, and all these things buried up to 8 inches deep in the ground. But the one thing I want it to detect is GOLD. I have been searching for months using this detector, thinking it just wasn't finding anything. Then, recently, I got some gold, in sizes that I would expect to find in the ground. The detector would not sound off on anything I ran across. I have gold in very small sizes that you normally find in real life. I have some "pickers" that are not quite big enough to be called a nugget, but big enough to pick up with your fingers. The bounty hunter just would not sound off. I am disappointed to say the least.
