Little Bug Sucker July 30, 2010 Laurennce Marinel We are gardeners and were looking for an organic way to remove insect pests from our plants. We were relly looking for something to remove squash bugs (stink bugs) from our pumpkins. It takes a long time to charge the battery the first time, so I didn't get to try it out the day we got it. After it was fully charged, with my B&D vac in hand I went forth to the garden. No bug could stand against the powerful vacuum of the little B&D. The easy to clean filter is also a plus for this use. I sometimes get a lot of soil in the vac when I try to get the bugs. Just pop open the collection door and remove the filters to clean. I'm pretty sure it wasn't meant to be used as an organic insecticide, but it really works well. No problens so far.
My New Best Friend July 29, 2010 Pamela Koenig (Clifton, VA USA) I love this little guy!!!! Plugged the recharger in a kitchen cabinet and he's good to go. Great suction, easy handling, nice sleek design and works incredibly well. Very smart purchase on my part.
suck it up July 29, 2010 David Halvorsonae humor(hopefully) excellent vacume, will worth the cost. have owned three cordless vacumes over last 10 to 12 years and this is excellent.

Great Performance, Outdated Battery Technology July 25, 2010 William I. Kipp (Pacifica, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
In terms of suction power, this is the best portable vac we have ever seen or used. It really works great! We bought two of these a couple of years ago (one for upstairs, one for downstairs), and now just bought two more to replace the originals. Obviously we like them, in spite of the drawbacks.
What are the drawbacks? The biggest is that these vacs use NiCad batteries, and NiCads must be FULLY discharged each time before recharging. Repeated small partial charges reduce the battery capacity. So don't use the vac for just a short time and then return it to the charger -- use it for a long time or for multiple times until it begins to run noticeably slower, before recharging. We had to replace our original, perfectly-good-otherwise units because they got to the point where they would only run for a few seconds before the batteries were essentially exhausted. As a practical matter, the batteries are not replaceable and it is easier and more economical to simply buy new units.
Other, smaller quibbles: The vac is quite noisy when running (maybe that's just part of being powerful), and emptying the dirt/dust compartment can be messy until you develop a proper technique.
Overall, the performance is more important than the drawbacks in our opinion, and we recommend these units. We're going to be more careful with battery charging this time, and hope to get many years of good service from them.
